I emailed out the following to all students and teachers today: Good Afternoon, I just wanted to touch base with you about what is happening in Algebra II over the next couple weeks. First, there is a test tomorrow over polynomial operations. The corresponding deltamath assignment is also due tomorrow morning. On Friday, we begin graphing polynomial functions. The test and due date for the corresponding deltamath assignment is next Friday. Students will be allowed one notecard – with their handwritten notes - for the polynomial graphing test. Next Wednesday will be a computer lab day. This will be a day when students can recover a grade through deltamath – either retake the Unit 1 or Unit 2 Test or improve a previous homework grade. If students do not need to work on any of these assignments, a bonus activity (for test points) will be available as well. There will not be any homework over the Winter Break. When we get back from the break, we will work on solving polynomial equations. Finally, it is critical that students bring back-up expo markers. With a 360 classroom (https://drgammill.weebly.com/360-classroom.html) , expo markers are liquid gold. I have enough for a class set, but they are running low at this point. PLEASE buy some expo markers to last your student for the rest of the semester. Some of them are growing legs are walking off, but with 80 students I simply do not have the resources to keep replacing the markers. Boardwork is a critical component of student engagement and teacher feedback in this course. Please make sure your child is prepared for class with backup dry erase markers.
